Wanderlust Wednesday: Therasia Resort

On the first Wednesday of each month, I’ll be posting a hotel that’s caught my eye on the internet. This month… Therasia resort, Vulcano.

Italy is by far my favourite country to visit. The hectic beauty of Rome, the colourful villages of the Cinque Terre and Amalfi Coast, the quiet hilltop towns of Umbria… I’ve loved everywhere I’ve been so far.

Next on my wish list is Sicily. I’d love to explore Taormina, hike up Mount Etna, swim in Alcantara Gorge… and after all that, I’d need somewhere to retreat to for a bit of R&R. And Therasia Resort definitely fits the bill.

Therasia Vulcano

It’s on Vulcano, part of the Aeolian Islands which float just north of Sicily. They’re all still active, so you can often spy red-hot lava lighting up the night sky or swirls of smoke spiralling up into the air. And because of this volcanic nature, there are loads of natural hot springs and mud baths to try out – beats a clinical indoor spa any day!

There’s an amazing infinity pool to relax in while you admire the volcanic views.

The lovely-looking restaurants make the most of the vistas, too.

And as for the rooms…

That lounger definitely has my name on it!

I shall have to stop reading your Wednesday series Laura for fear of what might happen to my bank balance if I continue!! 🙂 How gorgeous does this hotel look?!

Haha, think how I feel when I’m writing about them! Perhaps sometime my new year’s resolution can be to visit every hotel I write about that year…
